Baby Boom- Movie Review

A favorite movie of mine for as long as I can remember.

It's 1987 and business woman J.C. Wiatt is at the top of her game and about to become a partner at the advertising company she works for. However, her inheritance after the sudden death of a distant cousin (whom she met once when she was a little girl) changes all that in the blink of an eye.
And what type of inheritance would threaten such a career? Why a baby of course!!
Soon J.C. is forced to choose between life in the fast-lane and motherhood!

I would not recommend this movie for young children despite it's pg rating and that is is simply because I'm more conservative than most.

I would not recommend it for young audiences for the following reasons: There is minor language interspersed throughout the movie, there are a few scenes that I wouldn't want to have to explain to children and one I wouldn't want them watching never mind having to explain it!! This movie is good however if the grown-ups are looking for a brainless comedy to watch after the kids have gone to bed.

Jump In! Movie Review

I was not sure what to expect when I first watched this movie but it has since become a family favorite in our house.

New York teen Izzy Daniels is in training to not only be the next boxing sensation but also a third generation boxer. Life takes an unexpected turn however when he starts helping out his neighbor Mary by standing in as a fourth jumper on her double dutch team while they look for a permanent jumper.

Soon however Izzy finds himself enjoying double dutch more than boxing, but is afraid to admit it because double dutch "is for girls", so he doesn't tell anyone, and hopes nobody finds out.

Unfortunately, things don't work out that way and Izzy is forced to follow his heart.

The reason this quickly became a favorite in our house is because Izzy set out to do something that he thought would be easy, but soon found out was hard. It was more physically demanding than he realized and it subjected him to teasing from his friends and helped him make new friends. He thought about quitting but saw it through, found something he loved doing (for the fun of it!) and did something hard. An excellent lesson in commitment and friendship.

Jump In! is an all around good family movie.
